Assembling furniture

We needed several pieces of furniture for our condo, and it was frustrating to wait for Tim to put together IKEA and Home Depot items. In the summer, I started assembling shelves, tables, chairs, benches, etc. myself. It has been a learning experience, and the things I put together are still standing. No item has collapsed into a pile of chip board (IKEA’s main building material) and no nuts and bolts have come loose. I had to learn new vocabulary and understand the difference between kinds of nails, screws, and tools. The results are encouraging.

Hmmm, will this work?
This is a dowel.

Nailing the back and base of a Muskoka chair.
Almost done.
